‘This website’ refers to the algebra-tutor.xyz domain. ‘We’, ‘us’, and ‘our’ refer to the creators and authors of this website and the Algebra Tutor app. ‘You’ and ‘your’ refer to a visitor to this website or a user of the Algebra Tutor app. Your ‘platform’ refers to the platform you use to access the Algebra Tutor app. ‘Personal data’ refers to data that could be used to identify someone.
The Algebra Tutor app does not collect or use any personal data. We do not sell or give any personal data to any marketing organisations. Your progress within the app is stored locally on your device and might be backed up by your platform according to your settings within your account with that platform, but we do not have access to this data. Any in-app purchases made within Algebra Tutor are made with your platform. Your platform might provide us with anonymised, collated data about downloads and purchases, which may include such things as the country or type of device from which downloads or purchases have been made.
We do not collect or use any personal data from you. If you consent to viewing the YouTube videos embedded in this website, we will place a cookie (a small text file) on your device that allows us to remember this consent if you visit the website again within the next year. If you do visit the website again within the next year we will reset the expiry date on the cookie to a further year away. If you revoke consent (by switching YouTube Videos OFF in the cookie banner at the top of the Algebra Tutor home page) we will set the expiry date of the cookie to a time in the past. (Websites cannot actually remove cookies once set, they can only prevent their future use by setting their expiry date in the past - in most cases, your browser will then delete them at some point, such as when you end the browsing session.) Loading an embedded YouTube player on a website (even if it is embedded with Google’s “privacy-enhanced mode”, as it is on this website) allows Google to store data on your device and collect data from you. What data Google store and collect, and how they use it, may depend on whether you are logged into a Google account and your privacy settings on that account. You can read Google’s Privacy Policy here.
The games section of this website allows you to play games (currently, only naughts and crosses) across the internet with a friend. This makes use of a necessary session cookie which is placed in your browser so our server can identify which game you are playing from our database, and which player you are within that game. This session cookie expires when you end your browsing session (by closing the browser). The nicknames players enter, their choice of icon, and their game moves are stored in a database on our servers and only used to allow the playing of the game.
Our web hosting provider, Hostinger, may collect some anonymous data from you in order to provide basic usage statistics about this website to us. You can find a link to Hostinger’s privacy policy at the bottom of their website.
If you provide us with personal data voluntarily, such as by emailing us, we will only use that data for the purpose(s) for which it was volunteered to us. This data may be stored within a secure email account, database, and/or in a file on a private computer as we see fit. If you provide us with any personal data voluntarily, you may request by email at any time that we delete all such data, and we will do so as soon as possible and within 30 days of receiving the request. Will we not pass personal data onto any third party except as required by law.
Updates to these policies may be made at any time in the future to reflect any changes to this website or the Algebra Tutor app.
